Research Universities of the Year 2003


Three universities gain RE$EARCH Infosource's designation of Research University of the Year by university type for their outstanding performance on a balanced set of input and output measures. These universities demonstrated superior achievement both in earning research income and in publishing research in leading Canadian and international journals.

Points are awarded based on a university's ranking in the following 3 input measures: total sponsored research income (16.67 points), faculty research intensity (16.67 points) and graduate student research intensity (16.67 points); and 1 output measure: publication intensity in leading journals (50 points).
