Canada's Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders List is the best known list of its type and is the publication of record in the research sector. It is widely used by companies, governments and organizations to help them benchmark their own research activities. Moreover, the wide coverage and distribution that accompanies publication of Canada's Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders guarantees listed companies a high profile among shareholders, employees, business partners, competitors ... and the media. Inclusion in the Top 100 List places firms among the elite of Canada's corporate community. RE$EARCH Infosource uses the information companies supply to update our proprietary Canadian Corporate R&D Database. This information is used to produce an in-depth report on Canadian R&D trends, Canada's Top Corporate R&D Spenders Report, which is available for purchase.

The powerful Canadian Corporate R&D Database contains detailed information on over 650 of the top companies and their research activities. RE$EARCH Infosource Inc. uses this information to produce specialized private reports and lists for our customers. It is a tremendous resource for competitive intelligence, policy studies, marketing, and partnership development, just to name a few uses.

Canada's Top 50 Research Universities List is released each fall. Using Statistics Canada data and our Canadian University R&D Database, the List ranks universities by their research income and research intensity. A companion study, Canada's Top Research Universities Report, provides in-depth analysis of sources and trends of research funding at over 65 institutions across the country.

Canada's Top 20 Research Communities List is released biannually in the fall. Using Statistics Canada data and our Canadian Corporate R&D and University R&D databases, the List ranks the top CMAs (census metropolitan areas). To determine the rankings, we examine a total of 11 different indicators in each community (7 concerned with business R&D and 4 related to research in the higher education sector).

The Canadian University Publications Report (CUP) is a new publication that will appear biannually each spring. Using data from l'Observatoire des sciences et des technologies at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Statistics Canada and RE$EARCH Infource's Canadian Universities Database, this report is comprehensive record of the publishing output in 7,000 international peer-reviewed journals, of all researchers at 69 universities and affiliated teaching hospitals. CUP contains extensive charts and tables analyzing the research output, intensity, impact and efficiency of universities and hospitals and their researchers. CUP 2006 covers the 6 year period 1999-2004.
